"The horse as muse for the arts is ancient"
The horse is an ancient muse inspiring artists across millennia to contemporary times. I stand on the shoulders of artists who long, long before me explored object-making and painting to celebrate the spirit and form of the horse and to show reverence for the relevance of horses in their culture. When making my ceramic and mixed-media sculptures, I also incorporate my own personal history and the horse heritage of the iconic American West. With a nod toward ancient artifacts from civilizations around our world, my horse sculptures intentionally appear as relics, treasures to honor the profound, age-old human relationship with these magnificent creatures.
